IEEE Student Branch - Okanagan College is hosting a workshop being presented by Microsoft about Introduction to Mixed Reality Development in Windows 10.
Admission includes lunch and refreshments afterwards. At 2:30 there will be time for demo's and using the MR headset. Every ticket sold with the student discount will be required to show valid student id from their accredited institution.
The Okangan College is providing a lab to use, so there will be computers provided. However, if you wish to bring yoru own laptop, please contact Rob Bro (see below) for requirements. The lab is setup for laptops to have access to a 27" monitor as a secondary screen, otherwise each workstation has two monitors for use.
Overview: Thanks to Windows 10 compatibilities now you can blend digital and physical realities and create mixed reality applications . The Windows mixed reality combine the power of PC with latest virtual reality innovation and enable new mixed reality experience which is not possible with any other platform. In this short 4 hour power workshop, the audience will learn to start developing mixed reality application.
Introduction to mixed reality on the Windows platform :- In this series we will walk through the devices and core of operating system, use cases and scenario which solve real world problem with mixed reality.
Introduction to Unity and mixed reality toolkit:- Introduce audience to the Unity environment and walk through them the mixed reality toolkit and API to start building for mixed reality platform.
Developing for mixed reality deep dive:- Walk through using demo end to end scenario developing for mixed reality.
Packaging, monetization and distributing your Mixed reality application:: In this module we will look into all scenario how to make it ready for the store, update, upgrade and monetize it in the store.
