Topic
ASP.NET Core 2.0 with Docker
This is the first of two talks on the topic of Docker Containers.
The first talk will cover the basics:
- an introduction to Docker architecture
- create and run a container from an image downloaded from Docker Hub
- containerizing applications using Docker
We will look at both Linux & Windows native Docker containers in Windows 10. The talk is intended to be very practical. We shall create a simple ASP.NET Core 2.0 application in Visual Studio that connects to a containerized MySQL database. We will then also dockerize the ASP.NET Core 2.0 application. All scenarios will be demo'ed using both Linux & Windows containers.
The second talk will be a month later and shall tackle the issue of deployment to the cloud through ACR (Azure Container Registry) and VSTS.
