The Information Technology department of the Corporate and Community Services division has an opportunity for qualified individuals to apply for the position of Computer Systems Technician - Helpdesk. Reporting to the IT Manager, this position offers 72 bi-weekly starting September 15, 2014 through to May 31, 2014.
The Computer Systems Technician's main responsibilities will be to maintain the day-to-day operation of the Helpdesk; responding to telephone and email work orders; assisting in resolving user-related computer, printer and telecommunications issues with desktop applications; and to provide assistance to corporate users during the set-up of presentations, teleconferencing and council meetings.
Qualified candidates will have completed a Diploma Program from a recognized Technical College and have one or more years of work experience in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office applications and hardware including notebooks, desktop computers and printers is also required. The successful applicant will be a team player who is an excellent communicator; is very organized, analytical and detail-oriented; and has the ability to constantly prioritize their work. As well, has the ability to meet work deadlines.
As a requirement of the position, the successful applicant must hold a valid class 5 BC Driver's License, provide a clear driver abstract and must obtain a satisfactory criminal record check prior to beginning employment.
