POSITION:   Corporate Controller




REPORTS TO:  Chief Financial Officer



The Corporate Controller will be responsible for leading the execution of the financial planning, strategy and management reporting requirements of Whitewater Group of Companies including monitoring and analyzing performance to plan, reforecasting as required, communicating results to management and disseminating timely and relevant business data to support decision making. The ideal candidate must be assertive, self-directed, innovative and driven by details and deadlines and possess excellent knowledge of international complexities, operations and ERP systems.

  • Drive an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans, analysis that links to strategic objectives.
  • Manage the Company's financial planning process and oversee the entire budget process including setting timelines, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time. Develop budget tools and prepare complex financial models.
  • Manage and lead the preparation of the Executive monthly reporting package including KPI reporting, cash flow analysis, financial analysis of key business trends, and comprehensive executive level explanations of variances and trends.
  • Lead payroll for employees in various jurisdictions and coordinate benefit coverage with Human Resources.
  • Lead financial reporting and assist in tax compliance in the various jurisdictions including transfer pricing documentation for cross border affiliated transactions.
  • Work closely with all Value Stream Leaders and functional leaders to continually improve operational reporting to support better decision making, accountability and efficiency.
  • Advise business leadership of opportunities and risks impacting the business performance and propose potential solutions to complex problems. 
  • Lead the accounting process systems and policies, treasury, budgeting, payroll, tax and audit.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls


Supervisory responsibilities: 

  • Financial Manager - Projects, Internal Business Unit Operations Reporting and Capital Assets
  • Financial Manager - Audit, Consolidations, Budgeting and Business Unit Operations and Reporting
  • Accounting and Payroll Manager - US and Canada
  • Accountant - Kelowna



  • Minimum 5 years of progressive financial planning, analysis and corporate finance management experience in a high growth International and entrepreneurial business
  • Education: Professional Accountant: CA or CPA
  • Experience with accounting, financial reporting, business unit budgeting and taxation in multi-company jurisdictional business ideally with some exposure to US, China, UAE, Spain and UK operations.
  • Experience with project accounting and manufacturing environment a must
  • Exceptional analytical and financial analysis skills with passion for details
  • Previous experience and excellent knowledge of using enterprise-wide financial systems
  • Solid understanding of database architecture, SQL knowledge an asset
  • Strong computer aptitude including proficiency in Microsoft Office and advance skills in Excel.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada



  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships with all levels in the organization in addition to Executives and Business Leaders
  • Excellent, leadership, analytical with superior attention to details, time management and priority defining skills
  • Ability to organize and work with large amounts of complex information and managing multiple priorities
  • Minimum e years' experience effectively managing staff and team building skills.
  • Exceptional ability to listen, communicate (both written and oral) and collaborate
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism
  • Creative thinker with ability to understand the needs of the business and generate new options for reporting and International transactions.
  • Passionate, self-starter and independent thinker who has the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
