Vancouver, BC, September 29, 2010--(T-Net)--Alpha Technologies Ltd., a manufacturer of AC and DC power solutions for the telecom, cable, traffic and security markets, was recently recognized by international consulting and market research firm Frost & Sullivan for one of its Best Practices awards.

On September 11, Alpha representatives proudly accepted the 2010 North American Industrial UPS Product Strategy of the Year Award in a gala celebration in San Jose, California. Alpha joins the elite group of Frost & Sullivan award winners which this year includes such corporate luminaries as IBM, Hewlett Packard, SAP, Siemens and Verizon.

“This is a great honour and a testament to our 30 year history of developing innovative, high quality products that address our customer's unique powering challenges,” said Mark Schnarr, Alpha's President and CEO. “Frost & Sullivan are generally considered to be the preeminent market analysts in the world. To be recognized by them for our product strategy is very exciting and rewarding for our team, and bodes well for our customers.”

Frost & Sullivan, Director of the Energy and Power Solutions Group, Roberta Gamble, says, “Alpha was recognized for its customer-centric product development that enabled them to achieve significant sales growth in 2009 and 2010 while many of its competitors experienced declines brought on by the global economic downturn. Alpha's recently introduced Alpha Modular Power System 80HP (AMPS80 HP) is a great example of Alpha's technical innovativeness, delivering best in class efficiency, functionality, density and reliability.”
