Vancouver, BC, November 10, 2011--(T-Net)--QHR Technologies Inc., a leader in the Canadian Healthcare Information Technology sector, reported that its EMR division, Optimed Software Corporation has successfully passed all validation testing for OntarioMD's EMR Specification 4.0 for its Accuro® EMR offering. OntarioMD, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ontario Medical association, manages eHealth Ontario's EMR Adoption Program, which funds and assists physicians to acquire, implement and adopt information technology.
Accuro is now "Funding Eligible". Accuro has been on OntarioMD's approved offering list since November 29, 2010 for CMS 3.0 and is one of the first products to meet the stringent technical qualifications for EMR Specification 4.0.
Optimed's EMR product, Accuro®EMR, completed Specification 4.0 validation testing in August 2011 where the new functionality required by OntarioMD was demonstrated. This functionality included Hospital Report Manger which is an interface between Accuro and the hospitals allowing physicians using Accuro to receive hospital reports electronically. Another enhancement is integration with the Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS) which allows physicians using Accuro to receive their lab reports electronically and query the provincial lab repository for patient lab data. OLIS is the first of its kind in Canada to support the physician querying of lab results, increasing access to critical decision making data at point of care.
With current conformance status in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, eligibility funding for BC's PITO Alternative Specialist Funding Program and having a client base of over 9,000 physicians in Canada, makes Optimed the largest national EMR vendor of choice when compared to all other regional vendors.
"QHR's EMR origins may have been in BC, but over the past 7 ½ years we have steadily grown across Canada and now have built Canada's largest physician client base with over 9,000 physicians. The Optimed clients who have placed their trust in our product and service organization, know that our staff will do our very best to meet the ever increasing technical requirements in different provincial markets in a timely fashion." said Al Hildebrandt, CEO of QHR and President of Optimed who added, "The Healthscreen clients who recently joined Optimed by way of QHR's October 13, 2011 acquisition of the Healthscreen software business also know their technical future in Accuro has met the highest level requirements, when transition to a Specification 4.0 product is required."
