Absolute Software Extends Security Reporting to Microsoft SCCM, Introduces SIEM Integration

Vancouver, BC, August 7, 2015--(T-Net)--Absolute® Software Corporation (TSX: ABT) a provider of persistent endpoint security and data risk management solutions for computers, tablets and smartphones, today announced new security functionality that extends IT oversight to include the status of Microsoft® System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) on each device as well as the integration of Absolute alerts with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
Many organizations rely on Microsoft SCCM to manage the deployment and security of devices and applications. If Microsoft SCCM is not properly working on an endpoint, IT can no longer manage the device, according to the company.
Leveraging Persistence® technology by Absolute, IT can monitor devices on or off network and receive an alert if SCCM is corrupted or removed. This early notification allows administrators to take corrective action so the device can be promptly returned to management.
The new SIEM connector allows customers to consolidate security data within their SIEM environment. If an Absolute security alert is triggered, the event details will flow into the customer's chosen SIEM application where the incident can be examined in the context of the broader security landscape.
“Our customers apply a layered approach to endpoint security so they can cover as many eventualities as possible,” said Christopher Bolin, chief product officer, Absolute. “They rely on Absolute to persistently monitor complementary security applications such as encryption, anti-malware, and SCCM. The integration of security incidents into their SIEM environment will provide them with additional insight to their overall security posture.”

Both features are available today through the latest Customer Center 5.24 update.
