Registration is now open for the 17th Annual Microsemi Science Fair Fun Run

Vancouver, BC, March 15, 2016--(T-Net)--The Science Fair Foundation British Columbia announced today that registration is now open for the highly popular (and 17th annual) Microsemi Science Fair Fun Run to be held Sunday May 29, 2016.
The Annual Science Fair Fun Run is the largest timed 5K fun run in the province, one of the largest fundraising events in BC's technology sector, and a major event in Vancouver.
Your participation in the annual Microsemi (formerly PMC) Science Fair Fun Run ensures the success of future Science Fairs in BC and allows our youth to gain the skills they need to succeed in a fast-paced, knowledge-based world.
The Science Fair Foundation of British Columbia is a not-for-profit charitable society committed to the promotion and development of Science Fair Programs in the province. Science Fairs give students from grades four to twelve a unique opportunity to explore their interest in science and technology.
Each year, over 40,000 students from 800 schools in British Columbia participate in Science Fairs, more than 1,500 educators and professionals in the fields of science and technology volunteer as judges and mentors for BC students.
All proceeds from the event will go to The Dr. Michael Smith Science Fair Endowment to support the promotion and development of Science Fair Programs throughout the province.
Register before April 30th and SAVE!
Register before the early bird deadline (April 30, 2016) for only $40 (adults 19 and over) and $25 (youth 18 and under). There is also a 1K Mini Fun Run for children with an entry fee of $20.

Now in its 17th year, the Microsemi Science Fair Fun Run is the largest timed 5K race in BC and is one of the technology industry's largest fundraising events, supporting young scientists through science fairs across the province.
It is a family-oriented event with balloons, free giveaways from run sponsors, free admission for registrants to TELUS World of Science on race day and prizes for the fastest runners and largest teams. Participate in the day's activities while learning how much fun science is.
About Science Fair Foundation British Columbia
The Science Fair Foundation British Columbia serves to support, organize, stage and fund-raise for Science Fairs in BC. This extends to Local, Regional, Canada-Wide and International Science Fairs where students supported by the foundation have consistently produced high standard projects.
In British Columbia, 14 regional fairs are part of the nearly 100 fairs held every year across Canada. Each fair is affiliated with Youth Science Canada. Science fairs in British Columbia are supported by the Science Fair Foundation BC which is located in downtown Vancouver.

The Microsemi Science Fair Fun Run is the primary fundraising vehicle for The Dr. Michael Smith Science Fair Endowment. This hugely successful event provided almost $40,000 in 2015 and continues to grow.
