WSJ Reports BC Anchor Tech Company MDA in Talks to Acquire US-based DigitalGlobe for $2-3 Billion

Richmond, BC, February 20, 2017--(T-Net)--The Wall Street Journal and Marketwatch are reporting that long term BC anchor technology company
MacDonald Dettwiler (MDA) is in advanced talks to acquire US-based satellite-imaging provider DigitalGlobe for somewhere in the possible range of $2-3 billion (given DigiGlobe's current market cap of $1.8 million).
There is no guarantee a deal will be consumated and there is a chance that other bidders could emerge, according to the WSJ.
DigitalGlobe is a leading global provider of commercial, high-resolution, world imagery products and services that is headquartered in Westminster, Colorado (USA). The company owns its own advanced satellite constellation and aerial network, and its imagery solutions support a wide variety of uses from mapping and analysis to navigation technology.

DigitalGlobe's stock price soared 18% and hit a new 52-week high in Friday's trading session.
MDA has not released a statement regarding the potential acquisition.
