Mitacs appoints Catherine Chick as Chief Information Officer

Vancouver, BC, September 13, 2017--(T-Net)--Mitacs announced today the appointment of Catherine Chick as Chief Information Officer. As Mitacs' CIO, she is responsible for establishing and implementing the technology vision that supports the organization's strategic plan.
The CIO is a newly created position that oversees Mitacs' information and communications technology (ICT). In the rapidly changing realm of ICT, this position ensures that Mitacs can continue to meet the demand of program growth, perform robust analyses of program outcomes, and provide timely and efficient reporting for stakeholders. As Mitacs strategic plan,Target 10,000: Talent, Ideas, Networks, outlines, the organization has ambitious growth goals, including delivering 10,000 research internships annually by 2020.
Catherine joins Mitacs from Seaspan where she served as Vice President, Business Services and Technology. She started her career in management consulting and moved into the program delivery and technology operations functions. Catherine has held leadership positions in the technology, manufacturing, financial, and higher education sectors.
Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University. She will be based at Mitacs' Vancouver office at the University of British Columbia.
