North Vancouver, BC, July 13, 2020--(T-Net)--Enbala has announced the release of a software development kit (SDK) that enables third-party developers, device manufacturers, and system integrators to build applications on the Enbala Concerto™ distributed energy control platform.
The kit is a collection of robust tools, API interfaces, documentation, sample data, code and prepackaged modules. It also includes access to a developer community message board for support — all designed to speed integration of real-time energy data and control of a rapidly expanding range of distributed energy resources encompassing both behind-the-meter and front-of-meter assets and grid edge devices.
"We are releasing the new Concerto SDK to support the community of software and smart energy device developers who are committed to the same vision of innovation in distributed energy optimization as Enbala," said Michael Ruth, Enbala vice president of product management. "The ecosystem of smart energy products with inherent load flexibility is growing rapidly, as is the range of both residential and C&I distributed generation options. Our goal is for every grid edge device that can be a part of our platform to become a part of our program," Ruth continued. "The greater the number of distributed energy assets that can become an integral part of the world's power grids, the more reliable and sustainable these power grids become."
The release of Concerto SDK v1.0 follows on the heels of a May 19 developer integration workshop attended by more than 40 participants interested in developing applications and integrating devices with the Concerto platform.
"To deliver our new ARA residential water heater switch on a very tight project schedule," said Gabe Ayers, CEO of Apricity Code, "we were able to quickly and logically integrate to Concerto, exceeding our utility customer's expectations, ramping delivery to scale and maximizing our revenue opportunity in the market." Apricity Code is one of the first companies to begin using the newly released Concerto SDK.
