Gemcom Adds Director of Product Management to Executive Team

Vancouver, BC, October 26, 2006--(T-Net)--Gemcom Software International (TSX:GCM), a global provider of mining software and service solutions, today announced that it has appointed Marni Rabasso as Director of Product Management, a new position with the Company. Ms. Rabasso brings more than 18 years of experience in business, petroleum engineering, and software to Gemcom.

Ms. Rabasso joins Gemcom following product management and marketing leadership roles at WaterTrax and Absolute Software, both application service providers respectively specialising in environmental data management and asset tracking. She has also held senior product development, marketing and executive positions in Canada and Australia, with companies such as RADSS Technologies, Merak Projects and AGL Petroleum, who respectively develop software for logistics optimisation and management, oil and gas economic evaluation, and oil and gas exploration.

In addition to her product management and marketing background, Ms. Rabasso also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, and has worked as a Development Engineer with Esso Resources, a division of one of Canada's largest corporations, Imperial Oil.
