BC Tech Startups to be Awarded $60,000 in Regional Business Competition Feb 23

Vancouver, BC, February 22, 2012--(T-Net)--Five months of competition will come to an end Thursday evening as the winners of the 2nd annual BCIC-New Ventures Competition: Regional are announced and awarded $60,000 in cash prizes at a ceremony in Kelowna, BC. The 19 finalists, whittled down from 55 entrants in November 2011 include:

The winners are selected by the competition's expert panel of judges, who base their decision on which company has the most potential for success.
Accelerate Okanagan will also name the companies selected into the entrepreneurship@AO program, presented in partnership with BCIC. entrepreneurship@AO is a 12 month program designed to support and nurture early-stage tech companies from concept to market entry. Following the announcement, selected companies will be invited to move into shared office space at AO's Innovation Centres in Kelowna or Penticton and receive one-year free enrolment in their Venture Acceleration Program.
