Vancouver, BC, March 14, 2012--(T-Net)--Today, Digital Payment Technologies announced that it was selected by the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SLO Airport) to provide its new parking pay stations. The new deployment will make it easier and more convenient for travelers to pay for parking and quickly get to their flights, and will streamline parking management for the airport.
The deployment will feature 12 solar-powered LUKE II multi-space parking pay stations that will accept payment via credit cards and bills. The pay stations will utilize a Wi-Fi network infrastructure to perform tasks such as real-time credit card authorization and to access DPT's backend Enterprise Management System (EMS). The EMS gives airport officials real-time insight into the operational status of the pay stations, as well as detailed reporting on revenues that have been generated.
“Currently, our short-term parking is serviced by single-head parking meters that accept only coins, while people using long-term parking must fill out a parking form and can only pay via cash or check using a slot box. Neither option provides the convenience and efficiency we want to offer our customers,” said Richard C. Howell, A.A.E., general manager of SLO Airport. “We selected DPT because its pay stations and backend management software offer the best approach for modernizing our parking system.”
Pay stations from DPT are field upgradeable, allowing new features and capabilities to be added over time. For example, the SLO Airport has plans to utilize the Pay-by-License Plate (PBL) capability to make long-term parking enforcement more efficient.
“We are pleased that SLO Airport has selected our integrated parking management solution as the foundation of their parking system overhaul,” said Alan Menezes, vice president of product management and marketing at DPT. “This is another example of how our flexible solution can meet the parking needs for a large variety of customers and markets.”
The new parking pay stations are being installed the week of March 12, and will be fully operational by mid-April 2012. More information about parking at SLO Airport can be found at http://sloairport.com/parking.html.
