Vancouver, BC, June 4, 2008--(T-Net)--AeroInfo Systems, a division of Boeing Canada and provider of aircraft operations information technology products and services, is expanding and has opened new state-of-the-art offices in Richmond, B.C.’s high tech hub. To lead the expansion and take the IT business-solution development company to the next level is newly appointed president Ken Goosen.
An airline industry expert and commercial pilot, Goosen is a professional engineer with a 30 year history in the airline and aviation industry. Spanning all aspects of airline operations and maintenance, Goosen has worked in senior capacities serving both domestic and international airlines. He has also provided aviation consulting services to airlines and aviation training organizations. It is unique to have an airline operations executive leading an IT company.
“AeroInfo is a progressive company with a great corporate atmosphere,” says Mr. Goosen. “It is a tremendous opportunity for me to lead a team of such talented IT software development and business consulting professionals. I am excited to be working in this leading edge environment and look forward to growing this world-class company.”
Under Goosen’s direction, AeroInfo will focus on expansion by actively recruiting new talent. “We are looking in local markets for technically savvy individuals who are innovative and results-oriented contributors,” says Mr. Goosen. “We provide a dynamic working atmosphere and encourage work/life balance by offering flexible work options to accommodate personal and family needs. We support personal and professional growth and present the opportunity to work on world-class projects.”
AeroInfo joins the ranks of other technology companies—including Sierra Wireless, MDSI and Microsoft—that have set up shop in Richmond. The company’s new high tech facility, which is located at Suite 130, 13571 Commerce Parkway, is outfitted with ergonomic workspaces, historical Boeing photos, a Starbuck’s-style lounge with leather couches, a massage chair, plasma TV, Nintendo Wii and foosball. Staff are also provided with a stipend toward fitness club and sports-related fees. There is a patio for barbeques and on occasion, company executives cook breakfast for all staff.
In just three years the company has grown from 40 people to 150, an indication that it is an exceptional place to work as well as a highly successful company. Much of that success is attributable to the combination of aviation operating knowledge combined with leading edge IT capabilities. Over 34 customers worldwide—including Air Canada, CHC Helicopters, China Airlines, Northwest Airlines and United Airlines—will attest to AeroInfo’s expertise.
Offering the most advanced maintenance planning solutions in the industry, AeroInfo reduces maintenance costs by increasing operational efficiency and reducing out-of-service time. The company helps customers dramatically improve aircraft system troubleshooting, reduce repair turnaround times, eliminate redundant tasks and maximize knowledge transfer and retention. It also improves the performance of technical operations staff responsible for airplane system troubleshooting, structural repair record management, parts management, task card management, maintenance program optimization, content authoring and training.
With its Business & Technical Advisory Services, Application Development & Integration, and Targeted Business Solutions, AeroInfo specializes in evaluating existing business processes, introducing best practices, and customizing new processes to take advantage of new aircraft technology and tools. The company has differentiated itself from competitors by working on the business problem rather than just bringing in a few industry experts to help with an IT solution.
“We’ve found that every time a customer steps back with us to understand the underlying processes, they get very excited and jump right into this collaborative process. Through the use of tools like Business Enterprise Architecture, Value Methodology, and some proprietary modeling tools, we can take out waste and improve functionality with or without new information technology,” adds Goosen.
