Vancouver, BC, July 13, 2007--(T-Net)--Apparent Networks, an industry-leading provider of expert systems for network diagnostics and analytics, announced today that it has been named as one of IDC's Ten Canadian Software Companies to Watch (IDC #CA3EA7).
The study profiles ten emerging software companies in Canada that it deems particularly noteworthy due to their success in overcoming challenges and effectively contending with the ever-changing ICT
industry, evolving regulations and standards, and large, well-funded
competitors.
"IDC's latest study illustrates the wealth of globally minded technology leaders we have in Canada," says IDC Canada's Managing Director, Vito Mabrucco. "Clarity of vision, partner ecosystems to sustain and expand opportunities, strong customer references and prospects, the ability to navigate competitive environments, and focused segmentation are all characteristics required to compete on a global basis."
"Apparent Networks has demonstrated these characteristics, and is
among those organizations that will continue to position our nation as an innovator in ICT."
This recognition comes at a time of strong business growth at Apparent Networks. In the past six months, the Company secured a significant number of new strategic partnerships, received overwhelmingly positive response to its new AppCriticalTM 3.1 solution, and won a number of
awards. The Company reported record sales for the quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2007. For the quarter, Apparent Networks saw sales grow 50 percent over the prior quarter and 78 percent over the same quarter last year. In fiscal year 2007, Apparent Networks increased its customer base by 41 percent, while showing strong traction from existing customers delivering 55 percent of total sales excluding maintenance renewals from existing customers. Apparent Networks continues to build on historical growth and success as the company more than doubled revenues in 2005, with a 104 percent revenue increase, and surpassed that rate in 2006 when revenues grew an additional 125 percent.
Among Apparent Networks’ new key partners are Polycom, Nortel and Toshiba. Apparent Networks delivers network assessment solutions to all of Polycom’s service providers and channel partners in North and South America and Toshiba’s authorized dealers, comprising 400 business communications dealers in 800 locations in the United States and 80 dealers in Canada. In addition to the expansion of its partnerships, Apparent Networks’ customer satisfaction rates reached new heights: in a recent survey, 85 percent of customers reported being very satisfied with AppCritical overall, as well as with specific aspects of the product such as its functionality, usability, performance, reliability and ease-of-upgrade.
“The Apparent Networks AppCritical software has improved our operations considerably,” said Susan Evilsizer, Manager, Paragon Support, McKesson. “Prior to using AppCritical, identifying network problems would take weeks to months, and at times issues would remain unresolved. With AppCritical, problem resolution takes less than an hour and its ease of use allows our technical support staff, who are not network experts, to quickly and accurately assess and troubleshoot network problems. The ROI on AppCritical has been significant. After troubleshooting two customer cases, the time and resources saved were
equivalent to the cost of purchasing the product.”
"In today's competitive business environment we recognize that network uptime is essential for our clients," said Jimmy Brown, Vice President of Network Services, ACS. "We count on AppCritical to provide us with actionable information about our clients' network performance, making network assessment and troubleshooting more efficient and cost effective, which enables us to make sure that our clients experience high quality of service and increased productivity."
“The momentum we’re experiencing reflects our expertise in the network performance market,” said Irfhan Rajani, President and CEO, Apparent Networks. “The demand for AppCritical continues to increase as more
companies recognize the need for always-on communication, which is
heavily influenced by network performance. With AppCritical, our customers are able to address their critical need for good network hygiene and focus their time and resources on strategic initiatives
rather than fighting network performance issues.”
