LifeSciences BC Announces New Committees Chairs

Vancouver, BC, March 21, 2014--(T-Net)--LifeSciences BC announced today the appointment of committee chairs for its newly structured committees, following a "call for applications" last month.
The four committees, key issues and appointed chairs are as follows:
1. Finance
a. Financial models
b. Access to capital
c. Process maps
Co-Chair: Nancy Harrison, Chief Business Officer, MSI Methylatoin Science Inc.
Co-Chair: Doug Janzen, Founder, Managing Director, NorthView Ventures
2. Medtech
a. ICT/life sciences convergence
b. Genomic and biomarker Dx
Chair: Alan Swain, VP, Technology & Operations, Wavefront
3. Membership
a. Cluster design and development
b. Sponsor and member fees
c. Accelerator program
Chair: Dr. Ali Tehrani, President & CEO, Zymeworks Inc.
4. Policy
a. Data privacy and protection
b. Personalized medicine
Chair: Paul V. Drohan, President & CEO, LifeSciences BC
The purpose of the four committees is to focus on a key question for the life sciences sector, and contribute their findings towards a LifeSciences BC white paper that will be produced at the end of 2014.
"LifeSciences BC's committees are integral to our success. An important measurement will be the relevance and value of the work that we do, and the committees are an essential element of our work. The committees will be invaluable in shaping and influencing the life sciences sector in British Columbia, and LifeSciences BC wants to ensure that they're working on critical issues in a timely and efficient manner", stated LifeSciences BC in a release.
LifeSciences BC indicated that they wil also be announcing the final committee members in the next two weeks.
