New Partnership Will Bring Retailers 50% Reduction in Energy Costs
Vancouver, BC, July 17, 2013--(T-Net)--Scenario, a Vancouver-based firm that sources sustainability innovations for the retail channel, confirmed today that it has entered into a formal agreement to bring TSO Logic's internationally recognized, award-winning software solution to the retail sector.
TSO Logic has developed proprietary “application-aware” software to measure and power control servers in variable-workload environments.
The software provides visibility into where power dollars are being spent in data centers as well as provides power management that can result in energy savings of 50% or more. According to teh company, most data centers experience variable load, which means that the demand on servers varies from hour to hour. However, to stay prepared for periodic surges—called peak demand or peak load—most data centers keep running at full capacity all of the time. This means that much of the energy consumed is wasted on idle servers.
“We know retail data centers are designed to support peak sales periods, meaning a tremendous amount of power is being used even when transactions are low,” says Paul Antoniadis, CEO and partner at Scenario.
“We saw how 's innovations could support energy management objectives early on and are extremely pleased to expand our relationship with TSO Logic beyond our initial investment.”
“Our technology delivers immediate cost savings while also helping companies meet their sustainable objectives,” says TSO Logic founder and CEO, Aaron Rallo. “Having a team like Scenario with such deep retail experience will help to get our product suite delivering real benefits for retail data centers.”
