Strategic partnership creates industry's first end to end sensor system for smart buildings
Vancouver, BC, January 22, 2015--(T-Net)--Magnum Energy Solutions, a manufacturer of wireless, self-powered energy management solutions and Optigo Networks, a leader in building network solutions for smart buildings, announced today a partnership to deliver more comprehensive end to end solutions to customers.
The partnership combines Magnum's energy management solutions with Optigo's building network solutions to create a unified, powerful and lightweight smart building solution, according to the companies.
Optigo's intelligent connectivity solution answers the problem of creating and operating a secure smart building network.
Optigo's innovative solution includes the physical network, the control layer and the building integration component. This allows Optigo to not only build and manage a building network for the Internet of Things evolution, but to also report timely analytics, fault detection and troubleshooting capabilities directly into the building automation systems (BAS). These unique integrated network capabilities give facility managers the ability to drastically reduce the cost of maintaining their building, and to respond to issues much quicker.
“We are excited about this partnership because together we'll be able to offer our customers an industry leading solution for new and old buildings looking to improve their energy footprint securely and in a cost effective manner ”, said Pook-Ping Yao, CEO of Optigo Networks.
“We are seeing growing demand for energy management solutions when it comes to building retrofits,” said Mike Giorgi, CEO of Magnum Energy Solutions. “The fact remains that much of the opportunity within the sensor sector remains largely untouched and we need partners like Optigo to let building managers know that there are solutions which can not only save them money but also provide better tenant service.”
Magnum and Optigo are initially targeting properties in the US and Canada to start. Discussions are currently underway with the B.C. government for a pilot project. As well, more properties in this province and the U.S. will be rolled out in the very near future.
