Optigo Networks Appoints former Avigilon VP Engineering (and Ericcson) as Strategic Partnership Advisor

Vancouver, BC, November 3, 2015--(T-Net)--Optigo Networks announced today that it has appointed engineering executive Danny Kam as a Strategic Partnership Advisor.
Danny Kam was most recently Vice President, Engineering at tech heavyweight company Avigilon from December 2012 until May 2015, and prior to that was Senior Director and Site Manager and Engineering Director at Ericsson Vancouver (and Redback Networks prior to its acquisition) from February 2002 until April 2012.
Initially, Kam will focus on cultivating corporate partnerships, strengthening Optigo's position as a leader in the secure networking space for smart buildings.
“Having Danny on our team is a game changer for us,” said Optigo Networks CEO Pook-Ping Yao. “Danny is known for taking the companies he works with to the next level, most recently at Avigilon. Optigo is poised to take off and we're confident with Danny on board, we're going to do just that.”

Optigo Networks reported that Kam has a track record of successfully growing companies and is well-known in Vancouver tech circles. Working with Avigilon Corporation's executive team, he restructured and then tripled the size of its engineering group while assisting the company in increasing its revenues from $100M to $270M within two years.
While Head of R&D at Ericsson's Burnaby office, he built a team of 220 staff in less than three years, while overseeing all technical and operational aspects of the company's research and development team.
Over the past year, Optigo Networks has been recognized as the BC Technology Industry Association's Most Promising Startup, collected a New Product Showcase award at the 2015 International Security Conference, and was named to B.C.'s 2015 “Ready to Rocket” list in the information and communications technology sector for the second year in a row. More recently, the company's CEO was named one of Business in Vancouver's Top 40 under 40.
