Karimah Es Sabar Honoured for Accelerating the Pace of Multiple Sclerosis Research

Vancouver, BC, Canada., BC, December 22, 2016--(T-Net)--Quark Venture Inc. announced that Karimah Es Sabar, the company's CEO, was recently appointed the 2016 Honouree at the annual Women Against Multiple Sclerosis (WAMS) luncheon, hosted at the Four Seasons hotel.
Ms. Es Sabar was recognized for her instrumental role in facilitating a partnership between The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD). The partnership accelerates the translation of promising research discoveries in MS into therapies that will improve the lives of people affected by the disease.
“I am humbled by this honour. It has been my pleasure to be associated with Women Against Multiple Sclerosis and the forward thinking Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. For me, my involvement in bringing this partnership together and the ongoing translational research collaboration with the MS Society is a highpoint in my career,” said Ms. Es Sabar.
Multiple sclerosis is a disease which affects the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). In general, it strikes people who are between 15 and 40 years old. It is the most common neurological disease among young adults in Canada. Three and a half times as many women as men are diagnosed with MS. Close to 100 000 Canadians have MS.
WAMS provides the opportunity to strengthen professional development while at the same time raise Canadian research funds for multiple sclerosis.
