Job Description:

Adara Systems Ltd. is a Richmond, BC based electronics instrumentation manufacturing firm supplying specialized down-hole probes and sensors to the geotechnical site investigation industry through our parent company ConeTec Investigations Ltd. Adara designs and manufactures instruments and control systems to measure strain, stress, acceleration, radioactivity, ultraviolet luminescence and other geophysical properties for in-situ soil investigation. Adara is looking for expand its capabilities in both downhole tooling and in wireless data collection. We require an experienced Firmware Design Engineer to develop new products. The right candidate will have considerable latitude in the approach to development. The position involves a wide variety of design challenges, hands-on development, training, documentation and administrative duties. The successful candidate requires proven experience including but not limited to the following:

  • C, C++ and assembly development using ARM, MSP430, 9S12 etc. under different environments
  • Embedded DSP capability for processing seismic and gamma signals
  • Detailed understanding of CAN, embedded Ethernet, I2C, SPI protocols
  • Competent in scripting languages such as Python and Ruby
  • Development capability in and embedded Linux environment
  • Specifying and using debugging tools and emulators
  • Some high level programming necessary in Windows and Linux environment
  • Skill in adapting to development environment and solving associated problems with different programming environments
  • Developing testing procedures, programs and devices for product testing
  • Strong math skills are important and skills in physics and chemistry are highly desirable

Requirements:


This position requires a Post-Secondary degree in engineering or computer science with a minimum of five years industry experience. It requires a bright, passionate, critical thinking individual capable of working towards tight deadlines in a team environment with minimal supervision.
