JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Systems Operations Specialist is responsible for senior-level configuration and maintenance of the entire back office environment including studio server hardware/software installation and internal application maintenance; VMs and Storage; Active Directory; connection to global offices; administration and connectivity for Cisco Phone System; studio network infrastructure; VPN, routers, security and firewall policies. Mainly concentrated on project-oriented tasks and providing secondary support for day-to-day tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure, operate and support all server hardware, software, and application packages, AD integration and authentication, virtual machines, shell scripts, operating systems, telecommunication applications and tools on studio servers. Ensure stability and efficiency of all hardware/software components and application services through system health monitoring tools.
- Maintain and support all aspects of the existing Storage solution. Lead projects on expanding SAN based upon requirements and provide other solutions for storage, when needed. Manage monitoring of space, auditing of accesses and permissions, and capacity planning. Ensure backup processes and replication are working effectively.
- Coordinate and maintain documentation of studio server hardware/software, studio applications, telecommunication configurations and programming, network infrastructure, including support and recovery processes. Initiate and provide availability metrics reports and documentation on resolution procedures, change management and policies.
- Engage in 2nd-level support of issues with studio hardware/software, telecom, application and network-related services. Serve as an escalation point for technical problems. Provide necessary training on studio software, hardware and tools to other IT team members.
- Work with Disney to evaluate, recommend, plan, implement and support network, connectivity, telecommunications, security protocols, hardware and applications that can be used across studios. Design, plan, lead and execute the development, deployment and operation of DOSC's application, phone, server and network infrastructure projects/solutions. Establish methods and procedures, provide guidance, and coordinate systems integration testing and performance measures.
- Maintain all network-related hardware and services, including racks, switches, wireless routing, VPN, firewalls, Cisco equipment, UPS backups, telecommunications hardware and connectivity, global access. Ensure stability and efficiency of all network connections.
REQUIREMENTS
- BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent.
- Windows Server certification.
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
- Cisco Certification, Apple Certification.
- Minimum 7+ years experience managing Linux, Windows, Mac OSX servers, VMs.
- SAN, Active Directory, LDAP and System Health Monitoring experience.
- Project Management experience.
- WAN/LAN, Firewall, Network Security experience a plus.
- Cisco certification and experience with Macs a plus.
- Experience with VoIP Telephony a plus.
- Proficient with OS X, Windows, Microsoft Enterprise Server, Linux, VMWare, LDAP, Systems Monitoring Tools, and VPN.
- Experience with Microsoft and Apple products.
- Fluent in English.
