Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer - FortiOS (CARD442/443)

Job Location: Burnaby, BC

We are actively looking for two Senior software engineers who has extensive C/C++ experience to join the development team for FortiOS, the operating system of our core product line, FortiGate! This position will offer the opportunity to do hands on development on the FortiOS framework, and allow you to take ownership, testing and maintenance of existing and new product features. This position offers large scope variety and direct involvement with complex, innovative technology as well as the opportunity to work with the experienced project management, quality assurance, user interface and systems engineering teams at Fortinet.

Job Responsibilities:

• Hands on in bug fixing current FortiGate products
• Development, design and test the software for Fortinet FortiGate product
• Maintain and document code using source control system
• Maintenance, performance evaluation and tuning, and support of implemented software or firmware products
• Implement the FortiGate new features according to PM's specs
• Research, investigate and define new areas of technology to enhance existing FortiGate product or new product directions; re-evaluate the design and implementation of current source code

Job Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience in Unix/Linux environment
• Experienced programmer in C/C++, TCP/IP networking, Unix system APIs, Strong grasp of sockets and IPC mechanisms a plus
• Mastery of C and data structures required
• Extensive experience with network, e.g. IP, TCP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, etc.
• Capable of switching focus in various situations and apply themselves to quickly learning new technologies and adopting new methodologies
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Proven ability to deliver products with high quality and on time

Educational Requirements:

• Computer Science or similar degree
