Incorporated in 1995, the Child & Family Research Institute (CFRI) is the largest research institute of its kind in Western Canada, spanning a wide range of children's and women's health concerns. There are 214 investigators, 42 affiliate investigators and 314 trainees (including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows) affiliated with CFRI. The Institute has both 'wet bench' laboratory and 'dry lab' clinical research areas, and other areas to facilitate particular areas of research and training.
A key role of the Child & Family Research Institute is supporting individual researchers and research teams. CFRI provides infrastructure and core services to facilitate investigators' ability to conduct research on site, and ensure their research activities are in compliance with all policies and procedures.
We passionately pursue discovery, knowing our achievements have the capacity to transform lives. We foster a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment for our community of investigators and their research group members, working in an environment of integrity, excellence, transformation, interaction and openness.
