Innovation Island Technology Association (formerly known as the Mid-Island Science, Technology and Innovation Council), was established in 1998 by a group of technology entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who wanted to create an organization that would assist innovators with putting their ideas into action.
In 2012, the organization took inventory of the entrepreneurial landscape and realized that, not unlike a technology start-up, it needed to pivot in order to deliver programs or services that meet the needs of the regional technology sector.
Innovation Island is a new look, refined focus and a rejuvenated direction for the organization.
As the regional driver for accelerating business success through scientific innovation and technology, Innovation Island supports technology-based companies to grow and succeed. We are committed to creating a vibrant and entrepreneurial regional technology community.
Since 1998, the Mid and Northern Vancouver Island technology sector has grown to over 400 known companies employing about 4,500 people and generating over $660 million dollars in revenue annually.
