Response develops, manufactures and markets rapid on-site diagnostic tests at its world class manufacturing facility in Vancouver, Canada, for use on the RAMP® Platform. The RAMP®Platform is sold worldwide and includes a variety of testing applications in the clinical, infectious disease, biodefense and environmental arenas. The RAMP® Platform provides laboratory quality results with the speed, precision and accuracy that many hospitals expect of their central lab systems. It is ideally suited for both point of care testing and laboratory use. The RAMP® Platform consists of a reader and single-use disposable test cartridges and has the potential to be adapted to more than 250 medical and non-medical tests currently performed in laboratories.
In 2012, Response acquired new leadership. Response proudly announced the appointment of Jeffrey L. Purvin as Director and Chief Executive Officer and W.J. (Bill) Adams as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Tim Shannon, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing and Zheng (James) Wang, General Manager of the Regional Office in China, were also highly welcomed additions to the Senior Management team. The background and collective experience of all Senior Management team members has poised Response to drive worldwide marketing strategies that will enhance the company's growth moving forward. Product strategy initiatives aimed at emerging diagnostic needs will also be at the forefront of Response's focus.
Also in 2012, Response formed a newly created wholly owned subsidiary in the U.S. (Response Point of Care Inc.) and opened Regional Offices in Charlotte, N.C., U.S.A. and Shanghai, China to facilitate and enhance the truly global nature of Response. In addition to the Corporate Office in Vancouver, Canada, the regional offices will strengthen and support Response's extensive Global Distribution Network.
