1. A deep dive into Calico networking and K8s network policy, by Christopher Liljenstolpe Co-founder and CTO of Tigera
We'll discuss the architecture and mechanics of Calico networking and Calcio/K8s network policy, and why the differences matter in a scale-out environment.
2. Introduction into Virtual Kubelet, by Anubhav Mishra, Developer Advocacy at HashiCorp
Virtual Kubelet has most recently been accepted into the CNCF as a sandboxed project. In this session we will give an overview of Virtual Kubelet project. We will highlight the HashiCorp Nomad provider and the Azure provider for Azure Container Instances. Folks can expect to learn about how Virtual Kubelet works and how they can use to for use cases such as bursting capacity, abstraction of infrastructure, and translating any APIs into Kubernetes APIs. Hopefully, this talk helps to spark new ideas, and conversation by bringing up a new way to connect Kubernetes to "any" service or technology.
Please come with your questions, passion or intrigue for Kubernetes!
Kubernetes is one of the tools on the bleeding edge of container management. It is extremely promising in its abilities to shake up the IT landscape, and has extensive features to reduce the amount of work required to get to a working scalable high available IT infrastructure. Being on the bleeding edge, documentation is limited, and implementation scenarios are often lacking.
We started this Kubernetes meetup to exchange knowledge on Kubernetes, docker and other container strategies. What works, what needs a lot of tweaking, or what just plainly does not work (yet).
Everybody interested in Kubernetes or actively working with Kubernetes is welcome to join.
