In 2019, The WIMDI Speaker Series is inviting engaging speakers each month to give talks on topics that help women kill it at work.
Welcome to Talk 11 of 12 - Networking: You Don't Need The Old Boys Club!
In our busy lives, networking is often thought of as a "nice to" not a "need to" activity. Adding to the challenge, women often feel they have to check everything off their to-do list before they give themselves permission to get up from their computer and go invest in building their network. But building a great network can be a career game-changer.
This talk will focus on building an effective network your way. We'll cover:
- Building a Strategic Network for career success
- Exciting research on the power of developing an Inner Circle of women
- Easy wins to help busy women like you build and maintain your network
- Tactical and practical networking tips to make connecting less stressful and more effective
The goal of this talk is to make you more comfortable in any networking situation so you can build your career.
This talk will be given by Gayle Hallgren-Rezac and Judy Thomson, Two of Canada's top networking experts.
Gayle and Judy are the co-authors of WORK THE POND! Use the Power of Positive Networking to Leap Forward in Work and Life. They have a who's who list of corporate clients in Canada and the U.S., women's networks and with graduate schools at the top universities in Canada. Their goal is to make everyone love networking more. Gayle and Judy know what they teach works because they didn't like networking when they started their careers and consider themselves introverts who know when to put on their extrovert networking hat!
Gayle Hallgren-Rezac is a writer, speaker, entrepreneur (founder, Cookies by George) and a YWCA Woman of Distinction. She is a member of the Davos Circle, having attended the Annual World Economic Forum over eleven times.
