The X Factor: Why the World Needs More Women Leaders
A Presentation by Katherine Emberly, President of Business, Brand and Communications at Shaw Communications
In partnership with Corus
The case for diversity is well known and includes higher returns to shareholders, stronger employee engagement and better financial results. However, the percentage of women in senior leadership in Canada's digital economy remains at 24.3%. WCT is the only community-based, coast-to-coast organization that inspires and supports women to achieve their highest career potential in Canada's digital economy through professional development, mentorship, advocacy and research. WCT champions and promotes women in senior leadership through research; recognition in the WCT Leadership Excellence Awards; and Canada's only cross-sector career executive sponsorship program, the Protege Project.
WCT and Corus are proud to present The X Factor: Why the World Needs More Women Leaders, a presentation by Katherine Emberly.
Katherine Emberly is the most senior female executive in the senior management team of Shaw Communications and a leader in Canada's digital economy. She leads the Shaw Business, Brand, Sponsorship, Media Relations and Internal Communications teams.
Building a successful career in advertising and telecommunications has taught her some profound lessons about the specific-and indispensable-qualities that female leaders bring to their organizations. It has also given her a superb perspective on what it takes to be a female business leader. Above all, she believes women must be authentic to their natures to make a meaningful contribution in business. Her view of the power and the imperative of women's leadership is forthright and inspiring.
At this event, you will:
