Presentation Description: 7Geese has been migrating towards describing their infrastructure as code to have infrastructure changes be more auditable, documented and reproducible. We evaluated CloudFormation and Terraform and eventually settled on Terraform for describing all our infrastructure as code. This presentation will discuss why we chose Terraform over CloudFormation, as well as share the practices 7Geese settled on to have reusable pieces of infrastructure, all described as code, such that we can spin up new production instances with the least possible effort.
Presenter Bio: Jonas started at 7Geese in 2015 as a python developer to work on the 7Geese backend and has since expanded his responsibilities to Devops. With 7Geese's push towards more reproducible production environments, Jonas has been responsible for moving 7Geese to describing all infrastructure as Code. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonastrappenberg/
