As a company grows, so must the capacity and capability of its leaders. Management teams must evolve, and a discussion of this touches on many different issues. These include how to promote, hire and adjust reporting structure as a company grows; what's needed from managers at different times; how to ensure diversity in management; how founders can fit into management structure; and how to have tough conversations with managers to help them evolve.
The session will be structured around questions from a small-company CEO (with 25 employees) for a large-company CEO (approaching 1,000 employees). The guest to this CEO roundtable is the CEO of a company that has gone through major growth in the past five years, including an IPO on Nasdaq and building a large remote workforce around the world.

The Victoria Advanced Technology Council (VIATeC) is the conduit that connects people, knowledge and resources to grow a successful technology sector in Greater Victoria.
Since VIATeC's inception way back in 1989, the Greater Victoria tech sector has grown to over 800 known technology companies, employing more than 13,000 people and generating in excess of $1.95 billion in annual revenues with an economic impact of $2.65 billion. That's bigger than the revenues generated by the entire NHL and explains why the advanced technology is Greater Victoria's #1 private industry.
VIATeC is intended to be the first place that people contact for information or assistance related to advanced technology in Greater Victoria. VIATeC's membership, which currently stands at over 350 annually elects VIATeC's Board of Directors, which in turn provides guidance to the Executive Director.
