Hello FullStackers!
For our September meetup, Peter Smith will talk to us about DynamoDB.
As for the July event, we will assess in due time whether we can open our Galvanize Vancouver office to host you there. In the meantime, assume it's a virtual event.
Talk Summary:
In this talk we'll cover the basics of DynamoDB, one of the most popular NoSQL databases. We'll discuss how data is stored in DynamoDB, and how the data can be queried in a fast and scalable way. We'll also discuss how typical SQL operations, such as joining and aggregating, can be implemented using a NoSQL data model.
By the end of the talk, you'll have gained an appreciation for whether DynamoDB could be used in your next project. You'll also have a solid understanding of how to write your own queries.
