Compensation Range: 68500-85600
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.
Job Purpose
Under limited supervision, performs accounting work requiring the use of professional concepts. Exercises professional judgment to resolve moderately complex accounting problems. Prepares journal entries, reconciles ledger accounts, balances ledgers, prepares profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements. Recommends ways to improve current processes and apply correct accounting procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned month end accounting and reporting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reports
- Take ownership of G/L account reconciliations including researching and resolving reconciling differences
- Perform balance sheet and departmental trend analysis including leading review with executive team
- Verify accuracy of financial data and make recommendations for corrections
- Ensure accounting standards are followed and identify process improvements where needed
- Perform monthly SOX testing and ensure compliance is maintained
- Lead intercompany reconciliation processes
- Implement process improvement initiatives
- Assist with annual financial audits
- Support annual budget process
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Possesses 4 - 6 years related experience with at least 3 years as a Senior Accountant
- Public Accounting and SOX experience highly preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills- ability to analyze results, draw conclusions and recommend solutions with limited guidance
- Assertiveness and driven to take ownership of tasks
- Ability to successfully work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to deal with diverse accounting matters
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all stakeholders
- Ability to successfully work in a remote team environment
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Prior SAP experience
- Prior HFM experience
General Job Requirements
- This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime.
