For more than 40 years, Analytic Systems has supported the global marine, industrial and military markets with innovative and reliable power conversion products including Battery Chargers, Voltage Converters, Inverters, Power Supplies, Frequency Converters and MPPT Charge Controllers designed and built right here in Delta, BC.
The company is looking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to lead our electronic manufacturing operations. He or She will be responsible for overseeing the production process to ensure quality and on time delivery goals are achieved while maintaining a positive and efficient team environment.
Principle Duties:
- Manage, operate, and maintain the company's manufacturing facilities in accordance with ISO9001:2015 and lean principles
- Liaison with R&D to ensure that new designs and changes to existing designs are accurately and promptly communicated to production
- Direct and supervise activities of the production employees to achieve performance goals for quantity and quality of work produced.
- Direct the procurement team to ensure on time delivery of components at the lowest cost and to negotiate and establish supplier relationships both domestic and international to achieve these goals
- Create and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to eliminate production downtime.
- Ensure that employees are trained to perform their jobs adequately and safely
- Other duties as needed to support the organization and customers
Job Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the leadership team develop long-term objectives
- Formulate and implement Key Performance Indicators relating to manufacturing
- Provide leadership to manufacturing operations and manufacturing engineering teams including Surface Mount Assembly, Hand Soldering, Selective/Wave Soldering, Mechanical Assembly, Final Assembly, and Test
- Act as a change agent to bring about improvements in process through the empowerment of teams, enhanced utilization of existing equipment and implementation of new technologies
- Help develop more efficient ways to link people, equipment, materials, and information to improve overall operational effectiveness
- Work with necessary staff and departments to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles
- Ensure on time delivery of customer orders
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum degree in Engineering, Operations or Manufacturing and/or 10+ years' experience related to manufacturing management
- Sound knowledge of electronic components and manufacturing processes including equipment
- Familiarity with the requirements to meet IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 electronic manufacturing and inspection standards
- Knowledge of and experience with lean manufacturing techniques and processes
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across functions and levels
- Ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous production jobs and changing customer priorities
- Strong computer skills: MS Office and ERP systems, as well as eDrawings and Altium for viewing engineering files
- Must pass a police and security background check to be approved to work with Controlled Goods
- Able to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team
