The Information Systems Branch is responsible for providing strategic IM/IT leadership for the Justice and Public Safety Sector, and for the provision of IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders. The branch includes four divisions: MCIO Division, Client Services Division, IT Security, Privacy & Operations Division and the Strategic Initiatives Division.
The IT Security, Privacy & Operations Division (ITSPO) is responsible for oversight and maintaining a stable, secure, and efficient operational environment for our sector clients and their business applications. Key services include information security and privacy, infrastructure support, liaison with central agencies and a Service Desk that supports sector staff and our broader stakeholders.
This position is a member of the Database Administration team in the Operations work unit in the ITSPO Division. The Operations work unit consists of four teams: Service Transition, Middle Tier Infrastructure, Database Administration and Data Architecture.
The Database Administrator is responsible for day to day development and control of the definition, organization, protection and documentation of databases in accordance with data administration plans, policies, procedures and standards.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree, diploma, or certification in the computer science field or related. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Minimum 1 year experience in each of the following:
- working within complex IT environments.
- with MS SQL Server database administration.
- with backup and recovery techniques.
- with database tuning and performance troubleshooting processes.
Preference may be given to those applicants with:
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and above.
- SQL Server Replication and High Availability Technologies
- Experience with SQL Server BI with SSAS, SSIS and SSRS.
- Experience with Oracle, Postgres, Mongo or other open source databases and/or MySQL.
