Job Summary:
The Data Centre Transformation Manager is responsible for providing overall direction and facilitating future aspects of BCLC's data centre and infrastructure operations, including creating a vision of the next generation of data centre services for BCLC and aligning to BT's strategies and roadmaps to achieve the outcome. The role leads the implementation of data centre transformation, including partnering with external organizations to develop and implement new service delivery options.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible to facilitate next generation services that meet regulatory audit compliance, transparency and integrity as required to maintain our license to operate within BC.
- Ensures that the functionality and reliability of the next generation of 7x24x365 services meet or exceed customer expectations during transition periods and ongoing.
- Provides technology direction, planning, implementation and operations across all compute platforms, ensuring alignment with the BCLC Enterprise Architecture roadmaps, Solution Delivery framework and internal Service Delivery owners.
- Provides ongoing participation and leadership within BC Government and Crown Corporation technology initiatives focused on cross entity collaboration, new services development and cost reduction programs related to Data Centre services and hosting.
- Provides leadership to a team of BCLC and external resources responsible for the execution, migration and operationalizing of new data centre services. Provides overall team leadership and workforce strategies including staff recruiting, development, training, coaching and contributing to/conducting performance assessments of team members.
- Develops, maintains and manages high level relationships with external service partners to deliver new opportunities and to develop hybrid IT governance on service quality and delivery.
- Contributes to the development of an enterprise architecture, strategies and best practices specific to data centre services, controls and facilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Management of Information Systems or Information Technology;
- Professional Certification: Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) is an asset;
- 5-7 years in Information Technology including experience managing a data centre in a complex organization including 3 - 5 years experience working with ITIL methodology;
- Current experience with emerging data centre services, such as cloud based and software defined services;
- Experience in business change management and IT transformation, including transitioning data centre services to next generation platforms and facilities;
- Experience managing people, employee career development, team building, and conflict resolution;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements
- Broad technical knowledge of cloud and IT Infrastructure services, including server, storage, backup, network, databases and security;
- Understanding of the principles of data centre infrastructure architectures;
- Advanced knowledge of various data centre technologies, frameworks, standards and best practices;
- Strong understanding of issues and challenges facing modern data centres;
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees and peers;
- Demonstrated experience in strategic business planning and resource management in a leadership capacity;
- Demonstrated project management skills;
- Strong strategic thinking skills - ability to find innovative yet practical strategies to achieve goals, links several strategies into a unified plan, while anticipating needs and looking future focused;
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with a strong attention to detail;
- Vendor and contract management, SLA's and service management;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;

- Understanding of B.C. gaming industry is an asset.
