Ballard's Operations Team has a position available for a Maintenance Technician - Electrician in the Maintenance/Facilities department, based in Burnaby, reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing production and utilities equipment, executing preventive and predictive maintenance plans, repairing and maintaining building infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts preventive and predictive maintenance and troubleshoots equipment problems and performs immediate repairs
- Coordinate priorities between calls and work orders to ensure efficiency
- Install new equipment, overhaul and modify current equipment and fabricate and rebuild parts as necessary
- Lead and Support continuous improvement activities
- Provide technical leadership to minimized downtime
- Assist maintenance Planner in preparing parts list and time evaluation for work orders
- Participate in the generation and improvement of job plans, task and routes
- Identify and resolve problems, recommending improvements in the maintenance process
- Interact with internal customers and vendors
- Suggest new tools, materials and techniques to improve maintenance work and equipment efficiency
- Coordinate projects and assist contractors as required
- Participate in the generation of maintenance procedures and maintenance standards
- Participate in the generation of equipment BOMs
- Maintain maintenance best practices, including but not limited to 5s and other lean manufacturing tools
- Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining a tidy and clean work area on the floor and in the maintenance shop
Requirements: - 3 to 5 year experience with manufacturing production lines in a fast pace operation
- Experience with Controls required
- Knowledge and experience with safety systems in an industrial setting
- Red seal, a dual ticket is a plus
- Experience with a CMMS as Maximo, MP2, SAP an asset
- Open mind and positive attitude, willing to learn and implement new systems and processes
- Good organizational and prioritization skills
