Responsibilities
- Evaluating, revising and designing a variety of company operational business plans with respect to Clevest's clean water services and technology, designed for public/government utilities, in local and international markets
- Work closely with senior management to propose corporate development strategies and functional plans for Clevest with a focus on International Markets/China to expand clean tech market presence in the Asian Pacific region
- Mentor and manage related business development functions and professionals
- Identify and drive the creation of relationships with external parties to increase awareness of Clean Technology business development opportunities
- Facilitate timely and fact-based decision making to ensure that market opportunities are realized
- Initiate, structure, lead, negotiate and close tactical and strategic commercial agreements with new and existing alliance and technology partners
- Provide input and expertise on all Clean Technology business development activities, including significant commercial transactional matters, such as tenders and bids
- Collaborate with Clevest's leadership team on product evaluation opportunities
- Identify and evaluate potential Clean Technology product acquisitions, alliances, and commercial constructs which will complement Clevest's long-term Clean Technology strategy
- Develop proposals for structuring and negotiating deals in consultation with senior management team
- Prepare due diligence reports and risk/opportunity assessment
Requirements
- Completion of post-secondary education
- 5+ years of work experience in corporate/business development in a small to medium sized business with a focus on clean technology solutions for public utilities
- 5+ years of experience in a related senior managerial role, including business plan implementation, change management and managing/mentoring other business development professionals and functions
- Clean Technology subject matter expertise (utilities), demonstrated through directly related experience
- Customer management and retention experience, including $5M+ accounts
- Strong commercial skills with an in-depth understanding of international markets, with an emphasis on China preferred
- Proven track record developing business strategies, winning government-issued bids, and ensuring implementation
- Proven negotiation skills; ability to persuade/influence and effectively gain agreement; resourceful and creative problem-solving skills
- Networking and persuasion skills to build and maintain relationships - both internal and external
- Professional communication skills that are functional across a broad range of non-routine situations and to a variety of audiences, taking into consideration their motivation, needs and behaviors
