SALES SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE

Reporting to the VP of Sales, our Sales Support Representatives (SSR) are responsible for helping drive sales bookings with new prospects and existing customers, working hand-in-hand with Regional Business Managers (RBM). The primary focus of the role is to provide support to the RBMs throughout Clevest's sales process. SSRs are responsible for work cold calling prospective accounts, following up on tradeshow leads, helping to convert leads to opportunities, setting up product demonstrations and discussions, and working opportunities through the sales cycle to close with the RBMs. The SSR will spend about 80% of their time on pre-sales, 10% on post-sales and 10% maintaining job, product, systems and tools knowledge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prospecting and Lead Conversion
- Data mine high potential utility accounts and identify key contacts, utilizing the company's customer relationship management (CRM) system and other database information
- Follow up on all leads provided by marketing in a timely and effective manner
- Develop and maintain a high lead conversion rate
- Implement and maintain a high daily rate of outbound calling and email campaigns
- Search out and help respond to RFIs and RFPs to identify relevant opportunities with the RBMs
CRM
- Manage the pipeline, ensuring an accurate forecast with daily updates in the CRM
- Maintain customer accounts and contact database in the CRM
- Input and record pertinent meetings, emails, phone calls and supporting customer data into the CRM to ensure seamless customer support and transition to the RBM and/or services teams
Customer Engagement
- Book customer discovery calls, meetings, and demonstrations
- Define the customers' current mobile workforce situation, challenges and needs and determine their purchasing process
- Present Clevest product web demonstrations to prospects and existing customers
- Share customer best practices and acquire customer references/proof points
- Attend onsite customer meetings and events where ROI is high for sales conversion
Sales
- Work with RBMs to close business, supporting larger complex deals
- Close business (mostly smaller simpler deals)
Post-sales
- Find, track and expand opportunities with existing customers
- Input new customer data accurately into the CRM
Participate in department initiatives and develop related knowledge
- Attend training sessions to expand knowledge of Clevest products and internal systems and tools
- Stay current in Marketing collateral and related product/service positioning
- Build and maintain successful professional relationships with internal support teams
- Work cohesively with sales peers, sharing best practices and initiating effective joint coverage when appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
- Post-secondary education, ideally in business, sales/marketing and/or computer science
- General business qualifications expected, university or college education preferred
- 2 years technology sales experience or equivalent
- 2 years SaaS and/or enterprise software sales experience or equivalent
- Experience selling to utility customers (gas, water, and/or electric distribution) is desirable
- Experience using Salesforce.com
- MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Selling experience
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, qualifying and closing new customer business
- Familiarity with leveraging CRM systems as a sales management tool
- Customer and partner engagement and relationship-building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outgoing, collaborative, responsible and energized
- Demonstrate ability to learn technical products and solutions

This position is located in our head office in Richmond, BC. Business travel has been restricted until further notice.
