Working with our Sales Executives, the Pre-Sales Specialist will provide pre-sales coverage and support throughout the sales cycle. The candidate will spend most of their time working hand-in-hand with the sales reps to develop sales opportunities. A good understanding of the sales drivers and a willingness to engage with the sales executives and the customers (often independently) is key. You will quickly develop an understanding of the Clevest, an IFS Company sales methodology, be able to articulate sales issues, identify 'red flags' and share opinions/suggestions on sales plans. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to the sales opportunity planning process.
'Solutioning', or the ability to relate a customer's business issues to Clevest, an IFS Company's solutions, will be an important aspect of this role. This will require an understanding of multiple software technologies and customer business processes, and an ability to relate the solution to key value points, or drivers, for the customer. Technical solution architect skills of understanding integration methods, technologies, data management principles and enterprise application strategies around security, data warehousing, data mastering and middleware, as well as implementation strategies, all have application here.
The position requires strong technical foundation combined with excellent presentation and pre-sales skills. You must possess conceptual and analysis skills, planning abilities, sound judgment, innovation, and superior communication skills. Other duties, including, marketing events, user groups, product design process, and account management, will be required from time to time.

This role is based in our Vancouver office in Richmond, BC (preferably) and reports to our VP of Sales. The position requires frequent North American and occasional International travel (up to 50% - though will be very limited during Covid).
General Responsibilities:
- Preparing and delivering sales presentations
- Engaging in customer meeting and 'discovery' with prospective Utility customers, demonstrating familiarity with industry terminology, process and operational technologies
- Performing software demonstrations
- Delivering on-premise technical workshops and ad-hoc training
- Working with sales executives on opportunity and account planning
- Assisting in responding to customer RFP proposals and delivery of scenario-based demonstrations to customers as part of the RFP process
- Supporting of marketing events and activities (tradeshows, conferences, webinars, etc.)
- Working closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product Management, and Engineering.
- Defining, coordinating, and prioritizing prospect and partner feedback and ideas into product management requirements for future enhancements to our client's products and services.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in an enterprise software company and hands-on experience with large scale enterprise software sales and/or deployments
- 3+ years' pre-sales experience in a related field
- 5+ years' experience working in the utilities sector (gas/water/electric) with software solutions is a definite asset
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills are critical
- Effective communication skills in engaging with customers and prospects
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments and projects
- Knowledge of Mobile Workforce Management solutions is strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
