Position Description
As the UX Specialist, you will be responsible for running and reporting on all aspects of qualitative and quantitative user experience research. The goal of the UX Designer is to develop a deeper understanding of Damon's clients and employees and deliver findings that can translate insights into action.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and deliver impactful studies that bring the voice of the customer to life.
- Design and conduct user research and usability studies using methods such as: ethnographic field studies, participatory design sessions, site visits, focus groups, benchmark studies, usability studies, heuristic evaluations, and similar approaches.
- Synthesize research findings and data to inform a better understanding of customers, give insight into business value, and identify potential usability issues and design opportunities.
- Develop content for presentations or pitch materials for UI/UX business opportunities.
- Design prototypes, screen mockups, and wireframes based on the results of usability testing and customer feedback.
- Work collaboratively to define and improve the user experience of Damon's hardware and software products (motorcycle human-machine interface, mobile app, website, etc.)
- Build user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive experiences.
- Facilitate the company's product vision by researching, sketching and testing experiences for physical and digital products.
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups for a wide range of end users; employees, suppliers, investors and customers.
- Work with the VP Experience & People & Culture Team to design and implement a stellar employee experience.
- Collaborates in the identification and establishment of overall UX standards with the marketing & experience team.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience of user-centred design and design thinking.
- A qualification in a relevant field, such as human-computer interaction, or equivalent professional experience in a UX-focused role.
- 3-5 years' experience in conducting user experience research using a variety of research methods.
- Excellent knowledge of modern UI design patterns, including responsive design and 'mobile first' strategies.
- Demonstrated experience designing for physical products.
- Must be user-focused, analytical, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Hands-on experience of conducting primary user research, including telephone and face-to-face interviews, generative research, user testing and facilitating the use of online tools.
- Able to work in a team environment in order to share information and collaborate on solutions.
- Proficiency with one or more usability testing tools or services.
- Proficiency with one or more wireframing/prototyping tools.
- Travel may be required.
