What to expect as Elastic Path's User Experience Designer?

As part of the Elastic Path's UX/UI Design team you will own all UX/UI aspects for your Product Development team. This includes user research & testing, journey and flow mapping, wireframing, creating UI mock-ups, low and high-fidelity prototyping and usability testing. You have a good understanding of how to create and use B2B and B2C user personas and translating user behavior into awesome business user tools relevant for these personas.

In this role you will apply your passion for design and the innovation to execute on design processes while collaborating with a multi-discipline team including product management, product development, education, and more.

We expect you to have a thoughtful and innovative creative process, executing UX and UI design work that supports the end-to-end process of digital product development. The candidate should be a master of storytelling and visualizing experiences with a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to create experiences that delight users while taking into consideration various limitations.

The right candidate will ensure full integration of usability and visual design principles and business strategy. The candidate will have experience supporting product delivery through all stages of product development from initial ideation to shipping and supporting multiple generations of the final product.

• Create design deliverables such as journey maps, user flows, sketches, wireframes, UI mock-ups, low and high-fidelity prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
• Comfortable with our design tool of choice, Figma
• Act as a user experience advocate ensuring User-centered design (UCD) practices are applied to ensure optimal product design and delivery
• Interact with key business & technology stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of both the business and end-customers.
• Apply Agile principles to design process -- provide multiple options, nourish iterative process, and understand that the first idea is not always the best
• Work effectively with Product Managers, Development Teams leads and other stakeholders to deliver stunning User Experiences relevant to target personas
• Contribute to maturing UX practices across Elastic Path's cross functional product teams
• Effectively communicate with developers through implementation phase to realize design vision
• Communicate, defend, and build consensus around UX architecture and interaction design direction

What experience do you need to Be Remarkable in this position?

• 2-4 years of experience in designing user experiences, conducting user research, developing information architectures, creating interaction designs, mocking-up user interfaces, crafting prototypes and running usability tests for the B2B market
• Expert understanding of UX and UI design methodology and practices with demonstrated design capabilities and skills
• Desire to work through the entire UCD process using methods like sketching, storyboarding, diagramming, wireframing, and prototyping, and usability testing for digital products
• Always up to date with the latest UX and UI trends, techniques and technologies and being able to apply them to create good user experiences.
• Experience with a wide range of design and prototyping tools (Figma, Axure, etc)
• Ability to think creatively, but also pragmatically.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
