Job Description
FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of FLIR systems, headquartered in the Greater Vancouver area, BC, addresses mainly 2 growing markets: Machine vision for the largest part of our activities, and People Flow Analytics.
Regarding Machine Vision: we provide to machinery manufacturers or system integrators imaging products and solutions that are used for quality inspection, measurement, traceability, vision guided automation and robotics, as well as intelligent traffic systems. Regarding People Analytics: we are currently focused on Retail Analytics, and we provide imaging products and solutions that are used to measure retail customers traffic, customers queuing time, customers flows in the retail space; Essentially our People Analytics products help to replicate the equivalent of web analytics in the physical world.
We are looking to hire a talented and motivated Project Manager to join the FLIR team in Richmond. The Project Manager will work closely with many teams across our business, but especially with the engineering and product management teams to develop, monitor, and report on project plans, schedules, and budgets. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience contributing to the development of project processes, guiding project teams to participate and contribute to all phases of project management, and successfully delivering projects despite challenges and problems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage project activities throughout the project life cycle
- Work with other project managers and functional team leaders to plan and allocate project resources
- Initiate, monitor, and report on projects' plans, schedules, and budgets
- Drive and contribute to improvement of project processes with a focus on Lean and Agile principles
- Predominant focus on product and engineering infrastructure projects
- Coordinate and run ongoing cross-functional meetings and communication
- Guide and mentor teams in project management processes, practices, and methodologies
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Holding or working towards a PMP
- Previous experience in a project management role
- Strong written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills
- Ability to understand and capture both technical and business requirements
- Experience developing and improving processes to support the team in delivering projects well.
- Experience with MS Office suite of tools including MS Project
- Experience with risk management: identifying, tracking, and mitigating
- Experience with project planning: Defining scope; identifying stakeholders; breaking down work; estimating cost, effort, and timelines.
- Experience with project monitoring and execution: reporting progress; manage risks, stakeholders, and change; maintain communication; adapting to priorities; shifting schedules.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- At least 3 years of experience managing projects
- Scrum master certification is a plus
- Experience with ISO requirements and certification
- Experience with Atlassian tools
