Combining new technologies, proven industrial processes, and advances in fundamental fusion science, General Fusion aims to be the first in the world to develop commercial fusion power. Key performance requirements have been demonstrated at the system level, setting the stage for building a pre-commercial fusion power prototype.
Position Overview:
The Project Planning Analyst/Scheduler is responsible for the implementation of standard processes and tools for project planning and control. This position will work within a team environment consisting of Project management, technical, engineering, financial and other supporting staff. The ideal candidate will have strong teambuilding skills, exhibit strong leadership potential, and possess comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with technical leads and functional managers to identify internal and external dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
- Create a valid and effective Project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) that incorporates all dependencies, aligns resource availability, and identifies and aligns Project milestones with contractual need dates.
- Track, forecast and report on project progress, including metrics and challenges.
- Able to identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts.
- Establish ground rules and assumptions, and ensure compliance with Project Control standard guidelines
- Identify & validate the critical path run performance and health check metrics. - Conduct trend analysis and report data, e.g. late start/finish, forecast dates impacts, manage Project schedule margin, and changes to critical path(s).
- Monitor and develop work-around utilizing schedule acceleration techniques to achieve additional margin, monitor & de-conflict internal and external influences to resources and the critical path.
- Collect necessary information required to start projects and maintain current knowledge on the organizational assets applicable to each project.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering-related field, with three years related professional experience (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
- Project scheduling experience using Microsoft Project or other related scheduling tool
- Experience using MS Office Suite, specifically Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset and excellent research and presentation skills
