A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. is a challenging and rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.
ASIC Power Efficiency Developer Co-op:
As a member of the power efficiency team you will be helping to develop leading-edge technologies for power-related techniques at the system level, including but not limited to power reduction, estimation, measurement, and implementation. The topic of Power is cross-functional in nature, and as such there will be opportunities to work with and learn about RTL design, verification, lab tools, mathematical analyses and/or models; nearly all aspects of SSD product engineering.
Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.
We are looking for enthusiastic students with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem solving ability, a desire to learn and a good general knowledge of embedded systems, digital design, software/firmware development and testing methodology.
Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student. We encourage both undergraduate and graduate candidates to apply. We encourage students with relevant work experience (other co-op terms, work experience) to apply.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- A familiarity with the concepts of silicon power consumption
- Show passion for the topic of energy efficient computing
- Basic SoC architecture
