Intel Vancouver team was a part of NSG since its beginning and continues to play a critical role in supporting this vision through our capabilities in System on Chip (SoC) design and verification, Post Silicon Validation, Virtual Platform, FPGA Emulation Platform, firmware development, as well as SSD hardware and mechanical designs.
VANCOUVER OFFICE
Located in South Vancouver's urban town center at Cambie Street and SW Marine Drive, the Intel Marine Gateway site features direct access to the Canada line, bus transit, shops, restaurants, health care facilities and a movie theater. The site is also a quick 15 minute Skytrain away from downtown Vancouver. Intel Vancouver interns will have access to a fully equipped gym on site, table tennis and foosball in the lunchroom, prayer room, nursing mothers' room, massage chairs, board games, fresh fruit and a wide assortment of beverages. There are a tremendous amount of learning opportunities for the ideal self-starter to challenge themselves in a supportive and collaborative working environment. As a co-op intern with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. It is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs). As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.
Embedded Systems Engineering Co-op, XBT Team
The XBT team is responsible for internal development of proprietary systems used for the testing of nonvolatile flash and Optane memory for Intel Solid State Drives (SSD's). We are a concentrated, cross functional team focused to build a complete embedded test platform. This includes hardware, software, and FPGA. FPGA design and simulation will be the primary focus of this co-op term. Regardless of primary focus, students are expected to interact closely with all technical areas in order to integrate their work and ensure system quality. This will ensure a good high level understanding of the system.
Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.
We are looking for enthusiastic students with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, and a desire to learn and a general knowledge of embedded systems, digital design, software/firmware development and testing methodology.
Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student. We encourage students with relevant work experience (other co-op interns, work experience) to apply.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Scientist or related field
- Debugging and problem-solving skills
- Digital Logic Design (VHDL, Verilog)
- Object Oriented Concepts
