We're on the hunt for an R&D Software Developer Co-op on our Geointelligence team at our Richmond, BC office.
Our mission is to turn data into insight. From detecting changes in fragile ecosystems to monitoring northern ice floes and shipping routes, our near-real time data of Earth observation and the environment makes our Geointelligence team a leader in geospatial imagery, ground stations, enterprise geospatial systems and defence programs. As our R&D Software Developer Co-op, you will support diverse research projects and develop software for the processing, exploitation, and visualization of complex data. Application areas include maritime surveillance, geospatial intelligence, air space de-confliction, mission planning, and space situational awareness. The work involves data and image analysis, data and sensor fusion, 3D visualization development using a mix of MR and AR visualization tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support analysis and visualization of complex data as it relates to cognitive load on an operator
- Support creation of Mixed Reality applications using Unity or other gaming engines
- Software prototyping of complex data using a variety of VR/AR visualization tools
- Software test case construction, execution, and testing support
- Support the preparation of technical documents and presentations.
EXPERIENCE
Note that not all skills are necessary and we will strive to assign tasks based on skill set and desired work.
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
- Languages: Python, C++, JavaScript, gaming development using Unity or other gaming engines
- Methodologies: Object Oriented Design
- Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Some previous experience and/or knowledge of Unity3D development pipeline
- Some previous experience with Augmented and Mixed Reality applications
- Highly motivated - contributes to problem solving within the team
- Able to understand and work with complex research tasks
- Participates in and contributes to team environment
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
- Problem decomposition and solution development
- Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
- Mathematics: Probability and statistics, linear algebra, vector geometry, linear and non-linear optimization techniques
- Data fusion and analytics
- Other technical skills: Geospatial Analysis, simulations, Git/Subversion, Test Driven Development, Software Design, User Interface Design, Databases, AWS, and OpenCV
- Development for Hololens or VR applications
