MDA is seeking a System Administrator to join the Polar Epsilon team at Aldergrove. This is a unique opportunity to support the operation of Near Real Time Ship Detection systems receiving data from RSAT-2 and RCM Remote Sensing Satellites. The Operations team oversees the data reception from the satellite, the data processing, and the data product generation in accordance with the operations timelines.
Responsibilities:
As a System Administrator, you will perform and help lead the routine system administration tasks, which include, but are not limited to:
- System Administration and support of Polar Epsilon IT infrastructure including:
- Software and Hardware support for Windows and Linux systems.
- Troubleshoot, track and resolve system related problems.
- Perform regularly scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Security support - adhere to, and support, IT policies and procedures.
- Perform Domain Administrator duties: User Account Administration, Group Policy Administration, Account Audits.
- Manage and maintain certificates within the system.
- Generate data for operations and maintenance reports.
Requirements (experience/skills):
- IT, Computer Engineer or Bachelors in Science and 5+ years of related support experience in a multi-platform, multi-vendor environment
- Greater than 5-year's system administration with experience as a domain administrator.
- Experience with certificate management (monitoring and deploying).
- Knowledge of IT security and current security best practices.
- Knowledge of VMWare technology is an asset.
- Experience as an Information Systems Security Officer would be an asset.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- A team oriented approach to solving technical problems.

- Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the SECRET status level, pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
