We're fueled by a pioneering spirit that carries us beyond and together we enable highly skilled people to continually push boundaries and tackle big challenges requiring solutions that endure and inspire.
Are you ready to launch the next stage of your career in the new space economy? We would love to hear from you!
The Position
We are on the hunt for Systems Engineer - Space Domain Awareness (SDA), at our Richmond, BC office, to be a part of the next generation of Space Domain Awareness missions.
From characterizing resident space objects using ground-based observatories to monitoring situational awareness using on-board satellite sensors to developing next-generation sensor SSA technologies, our Geointelligence team is a leader in space domain awareness. You will join a team that has 30+ years of experience delivering commercial and government projects, including notable projects such as Sapphire, CASSIOPE, RADARSAT Constellation Mission and now the CHORUS Constellation of SAR satellites.
Role
As part of the SDA team, you will participate with our larger cross functional, multi-disciplined team in developing cutting-edge solutions to deliver end-to-end missions for our customers.
Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineer - Space Domain Awareness (SDA), you may have a wide range of responsibilities that include:
- Developing strategy and tactics for SDA including the definition of applications, challenges and implications of environmental and hostile acts on space systems
- Conjunction assessment and risk analysis using future operational systems in support of operations development
- Orbit modeling, maneuver assessment, and resident space object monitoring and reporting
- Analysis of astrometric and photometric data including their respective observation performance and uncertainties
- Development and testing of processing and exploitation algorithms
- The identification and characterization of resident space objects using partial or fused data sources
- Definition of requirement testing, system calibration plans, and performance monitoring
- Development and testing of machine-learning algorithms on space domain awareness data
- Participation in the mission design trade-off studies to design and develop overall mission subsystems
- Data fusion across heterogeneous sensors such as optical, radar, RF and hyperspectral sensors
- Support of product development of space domain awareness valued added products
You will support senior analysts/engineers in the above tasks and have opportunities for mentorship and career growth.
